<p>Ski touring in Taurus Mountains. On this ski expedition you will have the opportunity to climb the volcanic Mountains of central Anatolia and cross the Taurus from South to East. We will also climb Mt. EnginTepe (also called Mt Embler) 3723 m high of <a href="https://sur-mesure-turquie.com/circuits-en-turquie/ski-de-randonnee-en-turquie/">Aladag region</a></p>

<p> <strong>Day 1 : Kayseri &#8211; Ihlara</strong></p>

<p>Our meeting point for this ski expedition is Kayseri airport.  Transfer to Ihlara area for overnight.</p>
<p><strong>Day 2 : Mt. Hasan </strong></p>
<p>Depart by bus  to a village at the food of Mt. Hasan extinct volcanic Mountain of Anatolian, which  also erupted 3 million years ago and formed Cappadocia area. Afternoon we will walk through Ihlara valley (3hrs) and we&#8217;ll have opportunity to visit several churches with good conserved frescoes. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Ihlara.</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Day 3 : Mt. Hasan (3268 m) &#8211; Mt. Taurus </strong></p>
<p>We ascend Mt. Hasan summit from the south route about 5 to 6 hours. Climbing gradually up the snow is more and more abundant and the view on the Anatolian plateau magnificent. Mt. Erciyes, Cappadocia are visible from the summit. Descend and drive to Demirkazik village at the foot of Mt Taurus. Overnight in Mountain house. (1650m)</p>
<p><strong>Day 4 : Mt. Embler (3723m) </strong></p>
<p>In the morning  we drive (15 minutes) up to Sokullupinar plateau 2000m.  Wearing our ski we cross the Yalak valley  and walk up to pass at 3450m (Celikbuyduran pass). Here you may take the opportunity to climb Mt. Engin Tepe  (Second peak of the Aladaglar Range 3723 m). Then a superb descend in the Karayalak Valley, an impressive canyon, with some fairy chimneys. Dinner and overnight in the same village. Ascent :1723 m Descent :1723</p>
<p><strong>Day 5 : Avcıveli pass (3250m) </strong></p>
<p>Today we will be transferred by jeep about 20 minutes to the  Siyirmalik valley in to the forest part of Taurus (2200m). Then we will ski trek up to Avcıveli pass over the finger rocks . Scenery is splendid at this valley with its several summits surrounding around the valley. Reach the pass. Descent down the valley where we rejoin our vehicles.  About 6-7 hours ski time. Dinner and overnight in Mountain house.  Ascend = 1050m, Descend = 1050 m</p>
<p><strong>Day 6 : Mt. Taurus &#8211; Mt. Erciyes </strong></p>
<p>We join back the Emli valley. Through pine forest we ascend up to the Alacan plateau (2450 m) from the Kucuk Mangirci valley. From the Alacan Plateau, you may take the opportunity to ascend one of the several low summit (about 3000 m) surrounding the plateau. We come to the departing point by ski trail of Buyuk Mangirci valley. End of afternoon, transfer to Mt. Erciyes in Kayseri. Dinner and overnight in hotel (2200m).</p>
<p><strong>Day 7 : Mt. Erciyes Summit (3916m) &#8211; Cappadoce </strong></p>
<p>This volcano is one of the most fascinating ones in the world. We will ascend the Mt. Erciyes (Argeos), a long traverse to reach its top from which the panoramic view is worth to see. A fascinating skiing descent through the several valleys of the majestic volcano will bring us to our minibus. Drive to Cappadocia, overnight in hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 8 : Cappadocia &#8211; Kayseri </strong></p>
<p>Morning sightseeing in unique Cappadocia we will visit to the rock churches, monasteries, cave dwellings, Fairy chimneys, remote canyons, bizarre rock formations and  the other unusual and beautiful areas of Göreme,  Zelve  and Ortahisar. Drive to Kayseri and overnight in hotel.</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Day 9 : Kayseri &#8211; Home </strong></p>
<p>Transfer to the airport and fly home.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Violent eruptions of Mt. Erciyes (3916m) and Mt Hasan (3300m) three millions years ago covered the surrounding plateau of Cappadocia with tuff. From this brittle rock the wind and rain have eroded: surrealist landscapes, rock cones, fairy chimneys, capped pinnacles and fretted ravines in colors running from warm reds and golds to cool green and greys appeared.</p>

İn winter time it is always covered with snow. The southern Slopes are covered with forest of oak, pine and poplar and there are numerous grassy alps (yaylas) with abundant water. We are happy to offer this interesting racket walking in this surrealist landscape. Meet at the airport and tansfer to hotel for overnight . Overnight at hotel in Ankara.</p>
<p><strong>Day 2 : Ankara &#8211; Ihlara canyon &#8211; Cappadoccia </strong><br />
Leaving the capital city behind, we head south east towards Cappadocia. As we travel across the Anatolian plateau, the landscape changes from the lush green around Ankara to a flat emptiness dotted with tiny villages and pockets of cultivation, as one of the oldest civilisations, the Hittites lived here. We pass the massive ‘ Tuz Golu’- one of the salt lakes in Turkey. We visit salt lake that is very important for salt production of Turkey. Driving to Ihlara canyon Valley . Afternoon oıur first contact will be with our snow shoes, we will walk by our snow shoes a long the Melendiz river. On our way to Belisırma village we will visit Yılanlı Church and direkli church from 8-9 century. The narrow, steep-sided Ihlara valley, dotted with rock cut churches, was once the favourite retreat of Byzantine monks. This valley was formed by primeval earthquakes and the was once rushing river is now a quiet stream. As we walk along the winding valley, with cliffs reaching up to 170m in some places , we see small garden cultures that originally would have provided for the colonies and made them self supporting. There are many rock-cut churches is this valley with valley with well preserved frescos dating from the 9th century. At the end of the walking , arriving to the hotel in Goreme. Overnight hotel in Goreme.</p>
<p><strong>Day 3 : Akvadi &#8211; Guvercinlik Valley</strong><br />
We wear our snow shoes, and walk through the Akvadi (white valley) eroded so perfectly by time, rain and wind during centuries. On our way following a seasonal river, many strange curious rock formations and fairy chimneys round us. If we are lucky we can also see some wild birds.(like hoopoe) and some wild animals(like fox). In 3h walk our way gets us up to Uchisar village where we have lunch break in a restaurant. Uchisar village is settled around a high promoter, which is called citadel. We visit it walking to the top where we have rewarding panoramic view on all the surrealist cappadoccia area. In the afternoon we follow a path to the Guvercinlik (pigeon valley). The piginaries are really very holy for Moslem people because of the Koran (holy book of Islam) and prophet Mohammed. Local people of the region use pigeon’s fertiliser for their vine fields. The path will take us to Goreme town. Overnight at hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 4 : Goreme &#8211; Taurus Mountain</strong><br />
Today we will walk with our snow shoes onto Kızılcukur valley. Sometimes known as the ‘’red hole’’ Kızılcukur is probably the hottest valley in region. Hidden in its array of fairy chimneys is The church with grapes where there are frescos depicting viniculture and fruit growing.(The vine produced here now is very sweet and heavy ). After walk we board our bus and transfer to Taurus mountain, arriving to Cukurbag village at the foot of Taurus mountain. Afternoon we will make a round trip around the village with our show shoes. Overnight in Demirkazik village that is at the foot of Taurus and will give us opportunity to contact with local people. It is a wooden village house.</p>
<p><strong>Day 5 : Kazıklı Ali Kanyon (Taurus Mountain)</strong><br />
A small transfer brings us to the Emli Valley .Whit our racket we walk down to Kazıklıali canyon nice view is available from there it is a impressive canyon.. The canyon take us to Elekgolu village where Taurus river passing thourgh mediternean. We meet our vehicle in end of Valley, and go back to the village’s house for overnight. (Ascent = 0 / Descent = 350m)</p>
<p><strong>Day 6 : Aksampınarı valley &#8211; Sokullupinar</strong><br />
We return to Emli Valley, to reach the Enzevit Plateu. We cross the pine forest and walk in the Sıyırma Gorge, before ascending the Enzevit Plateu, with our racket. In summer time semi nomadic population, reach this plateu with their flock . Our way is to Yalak Valley where the Sokullupınar camp site is used in summer time. Then we reach the Cukurbag Village for overnight. (Ascent = 700m / Descent = 450m)</p>
<p><strong>Day 7 : Cimbar Canyon &#8211; Afternoon drive to Ankara</strong><br />
The day is to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the northern face of Mount Demirkazık (3756 m). More impressive scenery as we trek through the impressive Cimbar Canyon. The walking will end in Demirkazik villlage and our bus will be waiting for us. Afternoon will be spent by driving back to Ankara. Overnight hotel. (Ascent = 250m = Descent = 750m)</p>
<p><strong>Day 8 : Ankara Home</strong><br />
Transfer to the airport and fly to home</p>

Most Christians believe it is the site where Noah’s Ark came to rest after the great Flood. A climb of Mt.Ararat is a tough walk (non-Technical) but requiring a good deal of stamina. Meet the group at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon will be spent to discover the uniqueness of old Istanbul. Our first stop is Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque) is more familiarly known as Blue Mosque because its interior gleams with a magnificent panelling of blue. it was built by architect Mehmet between 1609 and 1616. After visiting we stroll around Ancient Hippodrome the scene of chariot races and the centre of Byzantine civil life, stood in the open space in front of the Blue Mosque. We continue the visit Covered Bazaar is the world largest’s covered market. this labyrinth of the streets and passages houses more than 4.000 shops. Covered bazaar is still commercial centre of the old city. Overnight hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 2 : Istanbul &#8211; Fly to Van &#8211; Dogubeyazıt</strong><br />
In the morning, transfer to the airport and fly to Van is one of the most important cities of the old Vaspurakan region.We drive to the direction of Dogubeyazit that is close to the Iranian border and famous with Ishakpasa Palace. We visit Ishakpasa Palace Ottoman governor Ishakpasa constructed the palace in 17thcentury with a mixture of architectural styles. The palace was made by using red clay stones and it resembles the Topkapi and Edirne Palace. Overnight hotel in Dogubeyazit.</p>
<p><strong>Day 3 : Mt. Ararat Camp 1 (Yesil camp 2900m)</strong><br />
In the morning transfer till Eli village, meeting local porters at 2400m who carry our bagagues untill 2900m. Today, we wear our ski and ski to the base camp at 3200m. Our baggages will be carried by horses our mules. Dinner and overnight at camp. (Ascent = 700 m / Descent = 0)</p>
<p><strong>Day 4 : Mt. Ararat (Camp II) </strong><br />
Today we carry our limited equipment by ourselves and also porter (shepa ) will help us. We ski to camp II (3900m). Overnight camp with all meals. (Ascent = 1000 m / Descent = 0)</p>
<p><strong>Day 5 : Mt. Ararat Summit (5165m)</strong><br />
Ski to the summit ( 5.165m) . After summit we ski down. About at 4500 m glaciers and perennial snows are present. Return to the base Camp I. Overnight at camp with all meals. (Ascent = 1265 m / Descent = 2265 m)</p>
<p><strong>Day 6 : Reserve Day </strong><br />
Today is Reserve day. if weather is bad we will try summit next day. If we do summit 1 day ago, we go down to hotel in Dogubeyazit , if we can not do the summit today we stay at campsite and try again summit today.</p>
<p><strong>Day 7 : Mt. Ararat &#8211; Dogubeyazit &#8211; Van</strong><br />
Descend to Cevirme Village about 3 hours and return to Dogubeyazit . Driving to Van about 2h. Late afternoon free for visit city center. Depending on time we may visit Akdamar island is the most important of these. On the island stands the 10th-century Church of the Holy Cross, Architect monk Manuel built the church between the years 915 and 921.The Church, consecrated in honour of the holy cross. Reliefs, depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments, daily Iife such as hunting, run along the exterior of the church. Overnight hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 8 : Van &#8211; Istanbul &#8211; Home</strong><br />
Transfer to the airport and fly home.</p>

<p><strong>Day 3 : Nemrut Mountain (3.050m)</strong><br />
İn the morning our bus will transfer us to the Foot of Mt. Nemrut. We slippers our ski and start our ascent by 1.750m, we pass the crater lake and ascent the Summit at 3.050m. We enjoy the nice view of Lake Van and the Region After a small break and a picnic at the summit we descent to our starting point, where our bus and driver waits for us. Dinner and overnight at hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 4 : Mt. Suphan Summit (4.050m) &#8211; Dogubeyazit</strong><br />
In the Morning we drive to the foot of Mt. Süphan when we wear our ski we will ascent The Summit 4.050m. İt will take 7 hours ascent and descent , From the Summit of Mount suphan we have beautifull secenarry of the Van Lake. After descent we drive to Dogubeyazit for overnight. Dinner and Overnight in hotel in Dogubeyazit. Dogubeyazit that is close to the Iranian border and famous with Ishakpasa Palace.</p>

On the island stands the 10th-century Church of the Holy Cross, Architect monk Manuel built the church between the years 915 and 921. The Church, consecrated in honour of the holy cross.
